Fishing at Orere Point
On a not so sunny Sunday, my father and I hopped into the car
at the crack of dawn and set off for Orere Point to catch some fish. When we
got there it was the beginning of the sunrise and the view was so surreal from
our spot on the beach.
We heaved the kayak off the trailer then walked down to the
ramp and later we were out on the rough sea. On the way out I felt a tug on my
rod. I seized the rod and started to wind it in. Soon I realised that it was
not a big fish but a big rock with a small crab that was holding on for dear
life. I slowly put it back into the water.
Father paddled out further and I saw a figure in the water. Then
we went out further out to see what it was. It had turned out to be Gavin. a
member of the EAKFC, the fishing club we were in.
I felt another tug on my rod but this time I was sure I would
catch a fish. this time But it was another ROCK!!!!!!!!!! By this time I was so
fed up that I didn’t want to see another rock on this trip.
