Alma

On a cold, gloomy day, a young girl called Alma was roaming around the streets through the rough snow . She had found a quiet peaceful place to play but she wondered why no one was here. She saw a chalkboard while roaming in the middle of  the town..

She wrote her name on the board. Suddenly behind her, in an old shop window, a doll appeared lurking from the shadows awaiting for its victim . She gasped terrified, it looked exactly like her. The doll had her blonde hair, and her scarf  was black as the dark night sky. Her mittens were red as blood. And the doll's  jacket was soft as a pillow .

She heard a noise from the doll. She gulped and ran with sweaty hands, but she couldn't escape. She had no choice but to enter. Creeekkk! She opened the door, she quietly tiptoed in. With every step she made a noise. She walked towards the doll but she stepped on a doll and fell, she picked up a boy doll riding his bike.

She quietly walked to the doll, she took her mittens off. She tried to reach the doll, when she touched it she had images put in her mind. Suddenly she was a doll..

                                                                                   

It had been months having Alma trapped. A boy named Max entered the old abandoned shop. The dolls kept blinking their eyes trying to warn the boy., He reached to get his doll, suddenly every doll in the shop stared at Max. He realised that these were real people.

He tried getting them outside but they wouldn’t move. Suddenly he fell down a hole, “Ahhhhhhh!”  screamed Max.. He fell in a chamber, he wondered around looking for answers.

Eventually, he found a wizard's lair. He was trapping their souls in dolls. When the wizard went to get a potion, Max ran to get his wand. He shot lightning bolts from the wand and Max trapped him in a doll and freed everyone else.

Homework

I strongly believe we should have homework. Homework improves student’s thinking and memory, and it helps you learn to work independently.

First, if there is no homework we will be distracted by kids that watch too much tv, because our minds will be blank or we will just be talking with someone, and fiddling with something while working. We will not know what to do when we have to do work because we don’t have homework.  Play while we play, work while we work.

Also, we will be stressed because when we have a maths test we won't know what to do because we haven’t been doing maths at home. And while we are doing work we will need help with it. We won’t know what to do because we don’t have homework.

We need homework because we will be more focused while learning. It’s also important because it helps us develop positive study skills and it will help us make good choices throughout life. Homework encourages us to use time wisely. It also encourages us to do things for ourselves, instead of someone else doing something for us.

Therefore, I believe there should be homework.

The Black Hat

Once upon a time a short, mischievous boy lived with his mute old, wrinkly, grandmother in a rusty cabin. He was lonely, he had no friends and he was curious. One day he quietly snuck out for a stroll hoping he would find something new. Bang! He slammed the door and ran outside.

He went for a walk in the dark, damp, muddy forest. The forest was pitch black like a pit of darkness. He loved the great smell of the forest. As he slowly walked, he could barely see the forest. Crunch! Branches of twigs were falling. He quickly rushed through the scary forest.

He saw something under a tree. It was a mysterious black hat. He put on his head. He grew so attached to it, he never took it off his head. It was nearly morning so he quickly rushed back to his rusty old cabin.

That dark night when he woke up, he saw beautiful dazzling birds and butterflies. He jumped with excitement. He had never seen these animals before. He put them in small jars and big cages so they wouldn’t get away, they were like animals in a zoo.

One day when the sun was shining bright and the wind was whistling, he saw his bird was gone. He ran to the forest as quick as he could looking for that dazzling bird.

He looked everywhere. Eventually he found the bird on top of the huge tree in the forest. He yelled, “Please come back.”

The next day the other birds were gone, before long all the beautiful animals had escaped. He ran back to the huge tree where he saw all the animals. ‘‘Please come back!” yelled the boy. When he saw them glimmering more than ever he didn’t feel sad anymore. He knew they belonged in their natural habitat so they can show their beauty.

Chocolate

Chocolate is a food and a seasoning that is popular throughout countries. Many sweet things contain chocolate like sweet crunchy biscuits, huge cakes, tasty chocolate drinks, creamy brown chocolate sweets.

How chocolate is made?

It begins with seeds from the cocoa tree. The cocoa trees comes from North and South America, Africa and also from Asia. The seeds become long as cucumber shaped fruits called pods. When the pods become ripe, the workers cut them from the tree and take the seeds. The seeds need to rest for a lot of days, before they are dried, either by the sun or in an oven. When the seeds are dried they are called cocoa beans. After that they are shipped to processing plants or to the chocolate factories.

Nutrition.

Lots of chocolate is high in fats and sugar.  That's why eating lots of chocolate can be bad for your health. It’s been connected with high levels of obesity in more economically developed countries, from places where choco bars and other chocolate foods are popular.

Although chocolate is bad for you if you eat too much, it is a high energy food and it also contains a material called antioxidants, which is good for you.  

Historical facts about chocolate.

Chocolate began in ancient Mexico and central America, where cacao trees grew. People organized a flaming hot, unsweetened drink with cocoa beans. Chocolate was one of the first items to be made as part of the fair trade scheme.

Interesting Facts

Did you know people should never feed chocolate to a dog, because a chemical in chocolate makes dogs sick.

Diary Writing

It was a hot boiling day. People were sweating drips of sweat, the sun was shining also glimmering. I was so hot I thought I was burning to crisp.

It was morning. The birds were singing. It was 9am, the delicious food was cooking. My mouth was watery. I couldn’t wait to eat. We got ready to go to the humongous Hunua Falls. My uncle drove his car like a cheetah running a million miles an hour.

When we arrived, the others slowly walked while me and my uncle rushed to the waterfall. I walked in the water. It was cold as frosty snow. Later on my aunty and sister came with me. We took photos of ourselves on the hard slippery rocks.

Later on we went to the other side where there was a dark creepy cave. When we got to the other side the water was so close that I thought it was as big as the Sky Tower. Finally we went home after eating delicious Subway.

What A Splash!

 It was a cold, windy day. The breezy wind was whistling, the dark grey the clouds were stormy. Suddenly ring! Ring! Ring! Ring! The bell rang like a tiger roaring. We quickly went outside then we quietly walked to the deep pool. We quickly changed into our swimming togs then jumped into the pool bang! What a splash.

             

We ran as fast as we could to the other side. Sometimes we slipped as we ran. After that we were blowing big bubbles and kicking. Later on we did freestyle swimming.

  Next we went to the fun and wet, slippery water slide. We first got into a line then we voted for our team name which was the Titans. After that we made our team cheer which was, “We! Are! The! Titans! We! Are! The! Titans! The! Mighty! Mighty! Titans! The! Mighty! Mighty! Titans!  Later on, it was finally my turn. I ran as quick as I could, then glided on the water slide like a feathery eagle soaring above the big blue sky. We kept sliding and gliding and falling on the water slide until we switched places.

After that we went with kind Mrs Hooker. We first got given cups. We poured wobbly water in the cups then we got our own cups to put on our small hairy heads. We had a challenge to be the first group with the most water but we had to pour water from our heads. We had competitions  like the cups filled with water on our backs racing but we moved as slow as a sticky slimy snail.  Ring! Ding! The bell rang like an explosion. We switched places and we went with Mrs Hooker again.

We first got into groups of five we had to use the sponge to pour the water in the bucket there was lots of water. It was like a million water Bancho Balloons. Our team came 2nd place, next we used tiny Banco Balloons. We partnered up with somebody. The partner on the far side had the Bancho Balloons. We had to catch the Bancho Balloon splash! The balloons already started splashing and popping. The noise it made was like dynamite blowing up.

 Later on the last thing we did was go to the pools again. We floated, swam and played. We had fun.
