Valediction

So many memorable days, months and years passing by so quickly. Some bring awesome memories and sad memories as well.

I remembered when I first came to Manurewa Central  school I was scared  and shy at the same time I did see a lot of unfamiliar people and activities. At first school was really hard to get use to as I had to come to school every day as I was told! But then after all the help from teachers and family members, it made me realise how important school really was.

It is so important because you gain many experiences and the courage to always try something new. This has given me the courage to never give up on my dreams and try my very best. My best memories were when I was in the middle school performance  my family were really proud of me. But now I am a year 5.

A goal for me is to be a good school counselor and care  for each other and  to teach kids  to be kind and reach their  goals when they are year 5 or 6. And We will  always  remember our school motto ... Effort brings Reward.

The Black Hat

Once upon a time there was a boy who lived with his old, mute grandma. They lived in a rusty house but I bet it will be nice in the inside.  One day he was asleep and he woke up. He was walking through the forest as he saw something sparkling on the ground. He walked over to it and picked it up. It was a black hat, but then creatures started to drop out onto the ground. He decided to take the creatures home.

The next day he woke up and two creatures flew away so he found them and then they left again so then he went home. He was so sad that he had tears dripping down the front of his eyes. He was very upset and horrified that his creatures had flown away into the coldness, but they were happy that they were set free. Every day the boy would get lonely not having his creatures with him.

Then his sister flew over to the country from a sunny place. She walked inside her brothers’ house to see him unhappy. There was nothing that would cheer the boy up. One day his sister and him set off on an adventure through the tiny bushy forest, watching the birds fly with the freezing, cold wind. He was getting worried because he thought the birds were going to freeze so he tried to call them back but they did not listen.

They went to look for birds. When they found birds he realised that they were his birds.  His sister then was walking down the forest. It when boom! The birds were dead. He was so sad that they were dead. They had a little funeral.  But he didn't realise that one of the mother birds had given birth to a little baby bird. He suddenly heard a “Tweet tweet”. He woke up straight away.  He didn’t know what to do, but he was happy because he knew that they didn’t die in pain, they died in peace.

Self Portraits

We are preparing our self portraits for printing. We will chose a primary colour and the opposite colour on the colour wheel for our face and our hair.
