Valediction

When I first walked into Manurewa Central School on the 3of February 2011, I suddenly realised that preschool was over. I remembered that yesterday I was screaming, and now It was all gone and my new learning journey was about to start.

My teachers had always helped me when I needed guidance. They taught me so much and now I am leaving and starting a new journey into intermediate.  My good friends Odisho and Dtroyt have been with me for so many years.

Looking back I can’t believe that I have been here for 6 years. I have had a chance to prove myself by doing Icas and achieving merit in digital technologies. When I  went to  camp , the memories I made include, the flying fox and canoeing in the lake, and the slide when I fell into the lake. All of my friends had helped me to overcome my fears.

That was good memories. I  just want to give big thank you to all my teachers and friends who have guided me along the way. I will always remember our school motto “Effort brings reward.”

Astronomy Acrostic Poem

Armstrong was the first man on the moon.
Stars are luminous sphere of plasma held together by its own gravity.
Titan is the moon of Saturn .
Rockets were made for space travel.
Of all of the planets Jupiter is the biggest.
Nasa stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Omega Centauri is located at a distance of 15,800 light-years.
Milky Way is a large barred spiral galaxy. All the stars we see in the night sky are in our own galaxy.
You should know that Apollo astronauts' footprints on the moon will probably stay there for at least 100 million years.

Slime Zilla

In a school on a hot summer's day, there was a popular trend called slime. Children would bring gallons and gallons of it but one day a child named Theo had mixed two different types of slime and created Slimezilla.
At first they had it a as a pet, but then it cept getting bigger and bigger.Until one day it ate a child instead of its food.

Slimey the monster loved it so much, it wanted more, but where would it get more? Suddenly, he charged and started eating anything that got in its path. Fortunately the saviour was currently in the staff room eating a tuna sandwich.

His name was the Super Cool Janitor Bob. Yes, his parents had the idea to call him the Super Cool Janitor Bob, because when he was born he had the powers of invulnerability and super heat ray. But he was too poor to go to super school so he got a job at a school being a janitor, and was paid minimum wage.

But when he heard the sound of children getting hurt, he knew he needed to save the the world. Finally he found out where the distress call was from. He found Theo, but what he had to say was hard to understand. “There  is a killer slime. Please help!” said Theo. Eventually Super Cool Janitor Bob got on his costume (p.s it's just the janitors clothes with a nametag saying Super Cool Janitor Bob in really bad handwriting). And he was ready to fight evil.

He had confronted the slime alone, now all he had to do was just find out what the slimes weaknesses was to kill the slime. The children said “You need borax!” Bob got a bucket of borax and tipped it over Slimey’s head  and killed the slime. For the good job done Super Cool Janitor Bob got invited to superhero university, and got a diploma in saving people.

Laundry Cleaner

There once was a boy called Theo. Every Wednesday he had to wash and dry all of the clothes and fold them. But one day he was talking to his Grandad and he said, “Sunny boy if you don't wanna do the clothes just build a robot”. And if he didn't wash and dry all of the clothes and fold them, he would be deprived of all of his allowance.

So he sneaked and grab some materials to help build his robot from the kitchen he took the drying racks and blow drier. His parents had given him an old computer for his 10th birthday so he used it. From his parents room he had take a motherboard to take to control of the robot if it ever went rogue.  Theo thought it's just a laundry robot. He went to work. Ahhhhhhhh after 10 hours he had gotten it to work. ”Yessssss!” The first thing that his parent said to him was, “Do the laundry.” So he went and turned on the machine and went back to bed.

After a while he heard a sound like a crowd of people grunting. He went outside to see all of the laundry that his parents had given him to clean had been thrown all the way to grumpy Joes Shack. You don’t want to wake him up. It had seemed that the robot had gone berserk.
He knew that controller would be useful. Ohhh... he really needed the batteries. Guess he has to take them from dads shaver. “Please work!”

Yes, the remote worked. He was able to control it. Left, right, up, down. “Let's hope my controlling abilities work.” Ding dong, time to take your motherboard out finally. “Theo!” growled dad.  ”Do the dishes now or no allowance!”

No Drugs in School!

Smoking ban - Wikipedia
I believe there should be no drugs in schools. You may say what!!! But by age 13, three out of 10 students have already been drinking alcohol.

My argument is quite simple, if you are a parent or teacher. Kids are getting into drugs and alcohol. This needs to stop! You may be thinking that's ridiculous but it’s happening when children are 13 years old they start to take beer and drugs from friends at school.

First of all, you know that if children take drugs at school they won’t focus and won't learn, then they won't get any knowledge to go out into the world and they can't have a family.

Also, if you go to a bar and drink and then you drive you're going to crash and get hurt. When you smoke a cigarette the smoke damages your lungs so much that you could get lung cancer or worst.

To stop this check your child's bag and smell their breath if you find some drugs. Tell your child not to go near the friend who gave the drugs.

So that's why I want to get rid of alcohol and drugs so we can have a better future.

The Amulet

There once was a little boy named Sirius who was curious and arrogant. He had been living with his mute grandfather in a century old cabin in the woods.

Since there was no one to play with Sirius went on long walks. One day he got up extra early and went to his granddad and told him that he would be back by breakfast. He set off on an adventure to find something new. He wasn’t successful at finding anything but on his way back he accidentally stumbled over a pile of pebbles. He saw a gleam of maroon among the pebbles. He laughed with delight! He had found a maroon amulet sitting on a pile of cherry wood.

He put it on and he went back home. He loved the colour maroon and thought it would go nice with his clothes. He had loved it so much he held it firmly while he slept. Suddenly at 11:59pm a magical dog appeared out of the amulet.

He was so stunned when he saw the dog. Every day at 11:59pm a new animal came out. On Monday it was the dog, on Tuesday was a cat and the cycle continued for several more days. While he was hunting for more stuff he found some cages and odd looking jars. He put the animals in the cages. Every day he looked at the stunning animals admiring them with each glance.

One day he saw one of the cages was empty. He ran as fast as he could to the exact place where he had found the amulet. He saw the dog sitting there waiting for him. When he looked into the dog's glistening eyes he knew what he must do.

He ran faster than a paragon falcon and grabbed all of the animals’ cages and set them free. “Be free animals!” he exclaimed and all of the animals that could fly, flew so high their wings looked like a firework display. Sirius never again caged an other animal in his life.
