Food Report - Carbonation

What is Carbonation?

Carbonation is actually carbon dioxide kept under pressure in a bottle or in a natural spring water. After opening the cap and releasing air the carbon dioxide will slowly be relieved which makes bubbles of carbon dioxide.

Carbonated water is also known as club soda, soda water, sparkling water, seltzer water, or fizzy water.

What are Carbonated Drinks?
Carbonated drinks give seltzer Its bite! (Seltzer is water in carbon dioxide which is when gas under pressure has been dissolved. Some of these have additives such as sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium and other minerals)

Soft drinks.
While the term "soft drink" is commonly used in product labeling and on restaurant menus, in many countries these drinks are more commonly referred by regional names, including carbonated beverage, coke, fizzy drink, fizzy juice, cool drinks, tonic, and mineral water.

Is Carbonated Water Bad For You?
Sparkling water can damage your teeth but it’s not that Bad. Sparkling water can erode your tooth enamel, but it's not quite as bad as it sounds. ... They aren't nearly as acidic or corrosive as soda, but some flavored sparkling waters have acidity levels on par with fruit juice.

However, over time the acid in sparkling water dissolves the calcium in your teeth leaving behind a mushy mess called a cavity.

Fun little fact. Coke was actually supposed to be a toilet or bathroom product but people started to drink, which made it a beverage.

Another fun little fact. Coke was made in 1886 on May the 8th. So if your birthday is May the 8th then It… guess you're lucky.
