Valediction

When I first walked into Manurewa Central School on the 3of February 2011, I suddenly realised that preschool was over. I remembered that yesterday I was screaming, and now It was all gone and my new learning journey was about to start.

My teachers had always helped me when I needed guidance. They taught me so much and now I am leaving and starting a new journey into intermediate.  My good friends Odisho and Dtroyt have been with me for so many years.

Looking back I can’t believe that I have been here for 6 years. I have had a chance to prove myself by doing Icas and achieving merit in digital technologies. When I  went to  camp , the memories I made include, the flying fox and canoeing in the lake, and the slide when I fell into the lake. All of my friends had helped me to overcome my fears.

That was good memories. I  just want to give big thank you to all my teachers and friends who have guided me along the way. I will always remember our school motto “Effort brings reward.”

Valediction

My time at Manurewa Central School is coming to an end. I have been at this school my whole life and I don’t want to go. My journey here all started in Room One.

I had a nervous look on my face, my legs were shaking and my hand was firmly gripped around mum’s fingers. It was my first day at Manurewa Central school. I was excited but very nervous at the same time. As I walked into Room one and looked around, the rest of the class were practising their alphabets. I quickly joined in. Before I knew it I was having the time of my life.

The next few years were the same, I was nervous then, the next minute I was having instant fun. In Year 3 I was very shy and I only had a few friends, but the next year I really came out. I made more friends and got along great with the teacher. The next year came, and my shyness was completely gone.

My goals as a year 5 were set very high, and I achieved them. That year I learnt that how you act as a year 5 affects how you want to be as a Year 6. In Year 6 I became a councillor. I was given different responsibilities and I did my best to take care of them properly.

All my years at Manurewa Central school have been a blast, but my favourite was this year as a Year 6. There are so many good memories to look back at this year including camp, netball and just hanging out with my friends. I also really liked spending time with the teachers. They have a younger sense of humour than I thought.

Throughout the years I made so many good and bad memories but now as I look back at them I smile because all those memories were made at Manurewa Central school. I will always remember this school and no other school could ever replace my first and my best school.

Valediction

It has been a great time at MCS so far. When I first came to this school, I didn't know anyone. I was crying when I went into my first class. I wanted my Mum. But after 6 hours I was happy. I learnt that each time you go to the next year, things get harder. Junior school was hard for me. But I got good.

The middle school is kinda cool. I got good at my handwriting. But I write fast. When I got to the Senior school, I was a year 5. Everything was for the year 6s. I love using the chromebooks, it's much faster than writing! I can't wait for next year.

BUT I have to tell you EVERYTHING that has happened to me. First the junior school life. So I was bad at handwriting but I would always draw. Mrs. Tombolato was a nice teacher. She would always make me feel safe. The next year just came up really fast like a cat racing to it's home. I made sure that I didn't forget anything as I moved to Rm 4.

Rm 4 wasn't that good. Because I kept going on the yellow bench, but at least I learnt how to say ‘yellow’ properly!

I went to Rm 5 next. Mrs. Simpson is super cool! She was the nicest teacher. I loved Charlie the teddy bear. If you are good, you get to take Charlie home for only 1 DAY!

I love the senior school because I got to pat Mrs. Smith’s cute kittens! Meow meow! I would never forget that day. Because that was the first day I had ever seen a kitten- more like kittens! I would never forget that day. But I really miss those kittens. Each day I would pull out my chromebook and WORK. School, Maths, Writing, Reading, Poems, Speeches, Cards, Sayings... what else could be better than this school? My life? My dreams? My ponies? My pets? These things are important to me but School is my 2nd most important things I love. (The 1st favourite important things are cats!)

Now, I have a memory of the times with me and Venya. My favourite was when we put my cat, Snow (but call her Bell) in the barbie trolley thing and she looked so funny! Venya and I have that memory kept inside our hearts. I will never forget her. I love Funtime Lunchtime too. But Funtime Lunchtime starts whenever a tennis ball gets stuck in the lawnmower. I love School!

Remember, school is important! And cats are too! If you hate school, you hate a life goal. School is one of your life goals, but some people think that their parents are just forcing them to do something boring. School isn't boring, it's fun! And remember: EFFORT BRINGS REWARD!!!!

Valediction

My class was Room 12 the best class I ever went to  with the best teacher. When I went inside there I saw my old friend Detroit. Me and Detroit have been friends for two years in t ball. Anyways when I saw him I said in my head "Detroit man I haven't seen him for 5 ever."

A couple of days went by and I still feel scared  but I had made new friends that helped me feel much better. A couple of months went past and I feel much better
I have new friends and I know where to go.

I know next year will be my last year here at this amazing school until I move to  next step of my life. I will never forget this school and this school's motto Effort Brings Reward.

Valediction

No joke when I first came to this school I was scared to death. But then I saw my best friend and his name was Avkaran. We've been friends for years now so when I saw him I knew everything was fine. He’s almost been in all of my classes. We help each other in maths homework spelling and best of all, being friends.
\
He believed in me so much that I was one out of four people that went to Mathex. It was so cool because we went to Manurewa intermediate their auditorium was at least twice the size of ours.

I had so many teachers who believed in me like Mrs McHaffie-Green believed in me for hockey. Mrs Armitage for ukulele and last of all Mrs Michaelides with mathematics. Thank you all the teachers for believing me as well. I'm gonna miss this school but I will not forget M.C.S and I will also pop up time to time.

Valediction

Salty Tears rolled down my eyes as I walked through a huge green gate for the first time. As I walked into my first class I was nervous and scared. I was also amazed how I saw new faces and my first teacher.

Her name was Mrs Tombalato but I called her Mrs Tomato. After some days I got use to be being in my class and I made a new friend, Nehemiah.

When I got to Year 5 I was excited because we did this thing called outdoor education. Outdoor education is when you go on trips for the whole week.
Trips I went on were… Rocket Ropes and Butterfly Creek.

YESS finally I got to year 6. I started  getting responsibilites like doing the flag. Then we did enrichment groups. Enrichment groups are when you go to a group like Whanau every Wednesday in the first block.

The greatest highlight was going to Chosen Valley camp. We spent 2 days at the camp and my dad came to help. I liked going on the water slide and the kayaks. I loved it there. By then I had grown up and I made more friends.

Another great highlight of this year was when I represented my school rugby team at Bruce Pulman and came first place. I've represented my school in many sports throughout the year. The sports I have been involved in were… rugby, league and netball.

As a person in a movie said “Good journeys must come to an end.” I was really sad.

The hardest part is saying goodbye to this school. I will miss all my teachers and I will always remember our school motto.

Valediction

My journey here has come to an end. I don't want to leave because my friends and favourite teachers are at Manurewa Central School.

Thanks for the teachers who have taught me in the past and for the support they have gave me along the way at Manurewa Central School.

The teachers Mr Moosa and Mr P touch us soccer and only a few people made it in. I was so excited that I made it in. A couple days later we went to War Memorial Park. We played and played games and won most of them. It was fun and exciting.

In the middle school I performed in a production. Thanks for Ms Turner for teaching me for the performance.

I liked to thank the teachers who gave up their lunchtimes to teach us soccer, basketball, rugby, touch, and hockey.

Sadly I have to move on to intermediate on the next journey on my education. Thank you again to all the teachers who helped me along my journey here at Manurewa Central School. I will always remember the school motto Effort Brings Reward.

Valediction

So many remembered days, months and years passing by so quickly. Most bring back happy memories and other’s bring back sad memories. Sadly my journey here has come to an end.

As it was one of my best occasions coming to school for the first time at Manurewa Central school. School made me meet the deadlines and see different faces, unique locations and situations. It was quite hard for me to communicate as I was a very shy person but for me I felt confident the more I learnt together.

I remember the time when I was at the front of the stage performing. Showing that I take pride in my culture and that you should never believe people who talk about you and your culture.

One of my best moments was going to Chosen Valley camp and I want to let you know that I enjoyed doing loads of fun activities. Everything that I have done will be thought of all the time.

My teacher’s, friends and family have helped me along the way. Having so much support made me realise how important school really was. It is important because you achieve and succeed things throughout your school life.

I have been given many great opportunities during school that I am really thankful for. This is helping me to always try new things and to never give up.

I want to thank all my teachers and friends that have encouraged me to be a good learner and that have helped me come all this way as I am at a valuable level because of your amazing help. I also want to thank you for organizing me and giving me more courage so that I am ready to go to Intermediate.

My goal is to keep on learning and never quit school because if you do then you will be leading yourself to a bad life where you have no house, no job and no money and that is one big mistake that you will always regret once you do it.

I look up to Manurewa Central school. The school that I have been to for 6 years. Manurewa Central School will never be forgotten and I will dearly miss it too. I will forever remember the moments that I had while being at this school.

Valediction

So many memorable days, months and years passing by so quickly. Some bring awesome memories and sad memories as well.

I remembered when I first came to Manurewa Central  school I was scared  and shy at the same time I did see a lot of unfamiliar people and activities. At first school was really hard to get use to as I had to come to school every day as I was told! But then after all the help from teachers and family members, it made me realise how important school really was.

It is so important because you gain many experiences and the courage to always try something new. This has given me the courage to never give up on my dreams and try my very best. My best memories were when I was in the middle school performance  my family were really proud of me. But now I am a year 5.

A goal for me is to be a good school counselor and care  for each other and  to teach kids  to be kind and reach their  goals when they are year 5 or 6. And We will  always  remember our school motto ... Effort brings Reward.

An astronomer is a scientist in the field of astronomy who focuses their studies on a particular question or field outside the scope of Earth.

Saturn would float if you put it on water.

Rogue planets are not bound by any star, brown dwarf or another planet which lets them free-float around the galaxy.

Only 5% of the universe is made up of normal matter, 25% is dark matter and 70% is dark energy.

Neutron stars are so heavy that a teaspoon of them would be equal to the weight of the entire Earth’s population.

Only 55% of all America knows that the Sun is a star.

Annabeth

A long time ago, in the lonely, snow covered streets of Demelca. There was a young girl named Annabeth. Annabeth was a very misbehaved child, she would ditch school just to go shoplifting, or watch someone get hurt for entertainment. But that day was different. She felt as if she was being watched, or someone was secretly plotting against her. It wasn’t an ordinary day, so to lift her spirits, took a tiki tour and tried to get lost. As she was wandering, she came across a dark narrow alley. “Ooh, that looks fun.” she said. But deep inside of her, she was petrified.

Annabeth skipped along the frozen pathway. Soon, she came across an old chalkboard. On the chalkboard many names huddled together. Annabeth picked up an old piece of chalk and wrote her name on the board. “A-N-N-A-B-E-T-H” she spelt. Just as she was about to go off again, she noticed a small doll shop. “Sweet!” she said, “Free toys”. Annabeth hopped to the shop and put her hand on the door handle. She tried to open the door but it wouldn’t budge. Annabeth checked around for any windows but there wasn’t any. With an angry face, she made a snowball and threw it at the door. She then stomped off and shouted “Stupid shopkeepers.” Once Annabeth was halfway down the alley, she heard a loud creak. Annabeth slowly turned her head and saw that the door of the doll shop was wide open.

She quickly turned around and ran, but before she entered an unusual looking doll stood on a platform in the middle of the shop. The doll looked exactly like her. It had blonde hair, a fluffy orange beanie and a purple puffer jacket that read “Kathmandu”. As soon as Annabeth stepped inside, goosebumps rose on her pale skin. All the dolls on the shelves looked like actual people. One them even looked like her cousin Rachel. Annabeth looked around, every time she moved at least one doll followed her with their eyes. Suddenly she felt a bump on her skinny leg. Annabeth looked down. A small doll on a bike seemed like it was trying to run a away. She stood the doll up and it peddled as fast as it could to try make it out the door. But, sadly, it didn’t make it. The door slammed before the doll could even make it halfway.

“That’s strange” Annabeth said to herself. But all the dolls seemed to be listening. Annabeth looked up again and realised her twin doll wasn’t on the platform anymore, it was on the top of one of the highest shelves in the whole shop. “Wow, thats a high shelf.” Annabeth said to herself. She put her left foot on an empty slot on the shelf, and pulled herself up with another empty slot. Each time Annabeth climbed higher her pink gloves slipped further and further off her hands. After a few more seconds Annabeth’s gloves slipped a little further down her hands. Annabeth got so fed up with her gloves that she automatically threw one of them on the ground. Five seconds later, she instantly regretted it. Annabeth’s hands were the coldest that they had ever been.  The skin on Annabeth’s turned a shade lighter. But she didn’t care.

Annabeth continued climbing. Soon, she reached the top. Her twin doll seemed to staring right at her. Without hesitating Annabeth grabbed the doll. Suddenly, terrifying flashes entered her mind. They were of tortured dolls in a dark prison. “Oh my -” The next thing Annabeth knew, she couldn’t move her mouth. She couldn’t move at all. The only thing that Annabeth could move was her eyes, side to side. Annabeth wanted to cry, so she tried. But she couldn’t. Neither could she do anything else. Years passed and Annabeth watched the doll shop as it got more crowded. Sadly all she could do was watch and blink. Until one day, another customer wandered into the shop. “Here we go again”. Annabeth watched, but something different happened. The girl didn’t grab her identical doll she grabbed a stick and poked it. “That’s different” Annabeth thought. A few minutes the little girl came back, but this time with a whole lot of different equipment. She had gloves, plastic bags and a long hook. Annabeth watched closely as the little girl got to work. The girl carefully slipped on her gloves, grabbed her hook and started stuffing the dolls into the plastic bags. Soon, the girl had come to Annabeth’s shelf. Annabeth’s heart started to beat, she must have been imagining it because it had never even moved in fifteen years. Or the spell was breaking.

The little girl moved her hook closer and closer to Annabeth’s dusty doll head. Then the hook grabbed Annabeth by the hips. Before Annabeth could blink she was in a whole different place. She turned her head for the first time in fifteen years and she could walk again!  Annabeth looked around, it looked like she was in an old warehouse but it was much more upgraded. “This must be the future” Annabeth said. “Yes it is” a robotic voice said. Annabeth turned around, but there was no-one behind her. Annabeth looked everywhere, but there was no-one in sight. “Who are you and what do you want with me” “I don’t want anything to do with you, it was my boss who saved you. She broke the curse and freed all the trapped people. The voice said. “Why did I get trapped in there anyway” Annabeth said as she sat on an old wooden box. “Well” the voice said “A long time ago, no-one knows for sure when, a crazy girl that was obsessed with dolls created a powerful spell to protect her dolls. Anyone that touched one of her dolls would turn into another one of her toys. When the girl died, someone found her dolls, but was careful not to touch them. That person sold her dolls but accidently touched one was trapped. The abandoned shop was then haunted, my boss broke the spell by taking you out of the shop, and here we are.” “Then where are the rest of the imprisoned people” asked Annabeth “They’ve already gone to live a better life,” replied the voice.

“So I can just go?” said Annabeth “Yup” replied the voice. Annabeth tried to sprint out the door but she forgot how to run. “Maybe I’ll just walk,” Annabeth chuckled. She made a new life in a new world, but little did she know, someone was watching her.

Alma

On a cold, gloomy day, a young girl called Alma was roaming around the streets through the rough snow . She had found a quiet peaceful place to play but she wondered why no one was here. She saw a chalkboard while roaming in the middle of  the town..

She wrote her name on the board. Suddenly behind her, in an old shop window, a doll appeared lurking from the shadows awaiting for its victim . She gasped terrified, it looked exactly like her. The doll had her blonde hair, and her scarf  was black as the dark night sky. Her mittens were red as blood. And the doll's  jacket was soft as a pillow .

She heard a noise from the doll. She gulped and ran with sweaty hands, but she couldn't escape. She had no choice but to enter. Creeekkk! She opened the door, she quietly tiptoed in. With every step she made a noise. She walked towards the doll but she stepped on a doll and fell, she picked up a boy doll riding his bike.

She quietly walked to the doll, she took her mittens off. She tried to reach the doll, when she touched it she had images put in her mind. Suddenly she was a doll..

It had been months having Alma trapped. A boy named Max entered the old abandoned shop. The dolls kept blinking their eyes trying to warn the boy., He reached to get his doll, suddenly every doll in the shop stared at Max. He realised that these were real people.

He tried getting them outside but they wouldn’t move. Suddenly he fell down a hole, “Ahhhhhhh!”  screamed Max.. He fell in a chamber, he wondered around looking for answers.

Eventually, he found a wizard's lair. He was trapping their souls in dolls. When the wizard went to get a potion, Max ran to get his wand. He shot lightning bolts from the wand and Max trapped him in a doll and freed everyone else.

Slime Zilla

In a school on a hot summer's day, there was a popular trend called slime. Children would bring gallons and gallons of it but one day a child named Theo had mixed two different types of slime and created Slimezilla.
At first they had it a as a pet, but then it cept getting bigger and bigger.Until one day it ate a child instead of its food.

Slimey the monster loved it so much, it wanted more, but where would it get more? Suddenly, he charged and started eating anything that got in its path. Fortunately the saviour was currently in the staff room eating a tuna sandwich.

His name was the Super Cool Janitor Bob. Yes, his parents had the idea to call him the Super Cool Janitor Bob, because when he was born he had the powers of invulnerability and super heat ray. But he was too poor to go to super school so he got a job at a school being a janitor, and was paid minimum wage.

But when he heard the sound of children getting hurt, he knew he needed to save the the world. Finally he found out where the distress call was from. He found Theo, but what he had to say was hard to understand. “There  is a killer slime. Please help!” said Theo. Eventually Super Cool Janitor Bob got on his costume (p.s it's just the janitors clothes with a nametag saying Super Cool Janitor Bob in really bad handwriting). And he was ready to fight evil.

He had confronted the slime alone, now all he had to do was just find out what the slimes weaknesses was to kill the slime. The children said “You need borax!” Bob got a bucket of borax and tipped it over Slimey’s head  and killed the slime. For the good job done Super Cool Janitor Bob got invited to superhero university, and got a diploma in saving people.

Robot

The boy does not like mowing the lawn. So he went to the garage to make a robot at night and day. One of the robots malfunctioned. So he built another robot. It worked so good. He relaxed and then he fell asleep. The next day his  robot  was gone. He heard a noise from the crowd “Oh no  don't tell  me my robot is in the crowd. Uh oh my robot  it is going to explode.”

So the next day he made one more robot. It didn't explode or malfunction. So he finished the laundry and the garden and the dishes. So his dad  gave his son $pocket money$.

Alma

Once upon a time there was a young girl named Alma. She went skipping to an abandoned town where no one lived so Alma ducked down because it was a haunted town.

Alma knocked into a big black wall with people's name on it. Next Alma picked up white chalk with lots of blood on it. Just as she wrote her name on it.

When she looked around there was a doll that looked exactly like her but creepy. It could blink as well. Alma blinked and the doll just disappeared.

Alma crept to the door and tried to open the door but it was jammed. She made a big snowball and threw it at the door as she stomped angrily away. Suddenly the door creaked opened, so Alma quietly tiptoed to the door and looked inside. But the only thing she saw was dolls on the shelves.

Alma stepped inside the creepiest shop full of scary dolls.
She walked to where the doll was and she accidently stepped on a doll that was riding a very small and rusty bike.

But when she turned around the doll disappeared so she looked on top of the shelf and the doll was there so she climbed on the shelf and touched the dolls hand and she got transported into the doll.

So she stayed in the doll for 3 years until a girl from a haunted house came. Her name was Anibal. She had red hair like blood coming from her face Alma tried to escape but she couldn’t. So she stayed still so Anibal couldn’t recognise a doll that just blinked or moved.

Anibal was surprised that this doll with very big eyes like eagle and blonde hair like Rapunzel but then Anibal told Alma she knew about the spell to turn people back to life. So she tried it on Alma and it worked so Alma was free.

Alma said inside of her mind I will never come here in this abandoned alleyway to go to a haunted town. Alma told her friends never go to this alleyway on Maich road and so Alma was really relieved that she was no longer  stuck inside of the doll.

Mrs Willowban P.1

She was a dark woman with  fangs as sharp as a thousand knives. Every time we played in our yard we heard a strange noise coming from her black, scary house. But little did we know Mrs Willoban was a vampire with super powers.

At night she would walk around in the dark by herself looking like she had just arrived from the dead. But in the day she was nowhere to be found. One day Mrs Willoban was not home, so my brother and I decided to sneak in and see what she has been doing.

When we got inside we saw red marks on the walls. Finally, we reached her room. It smelled like dead rats or like  someone had died. When we entered we saw photo albums of her.

We got to the last photo it was a picture of something trying to enter her body. Then we saw a strange thing happening  in the photo. She was somehow teleporting! I couldn’t believe what I had just seen.

A few minutes later we heard the door open and  footsteps walking down the dark hallway. We were more scared than Steven scaredy cat at our school. Silently we hid under her old, rugged bed hoping that she wouldn't find us. A few minutes later, we heard a smash coming from the kitchen. I started to cry and wanted to go home but there was no escape.

Later on, when it got darker, Mrs Willoban left the house. My  brother and I quickly rushed out of the house then ran home. When we got home we were puffed but we were curious at the same time about Mrs Willoban.

That night my brother and I couldn't sleep after what we had seen. Next morning I woke up with a tattoo on my arm written in blood. It said, “I'm coming for you boys!“  Tune in for Part 2, Mrs Willloban’s Revenge, coming soon.

         THE END………..OR IS IT?
