Drugs At Schools

In the past few years children mostly in intermediate and high school, some even in primary have been secretly handling drugs at their school. I know that some parents are completely unaware of this situation and think that their children are really safe and happy at their school, but they think wrong.

It is very unhealthy that children at the age of 11 years and up have been smoking weed, drinking and doing so many more things that involve drugs and alcohol at their school. Many children who have been involved with drugs are at risk of heart attacks, seizures, abdominal pain, and so many more side effects, especially because children are underaged anyway. GET RID OF DRUGS IN SCHOOLS!

There are probably reasons why children are taking drugs and smoking. For example, maybe the child is stressed or has family dramas and wants it all to go away. Or maybe they just want to be cool and want to fit in. So many families in New Zealand drink and smoke every day without realizing their children are watching them, and thinking it’s alright to do it at their age. It is so easy for children to just to steal the drugs, hide the drugs in their bag and take it to school to share with their friends. All parents should be constantly checking on their children even if their family is involved with drugs or not. Their child might be bringing drugs home from their friends at school.

Another big problem is that children introduce drugs to other children that are perfectly fine and healthy and the drug interest starts to spread throughout the whole school. Soon enough the whole school will be very ill and are at risk of dying.

Therefore the New Zealand government should know about this problem and stop it. Some parents know about this problem and are encouraging it, somehow thinking it’s OK. I say we stop this problem and change how the children in Auckland live, so they all can live in a healthy and safe environment where no-one is getting hurt.

  2. This is a very well structured argument. You have clearly set out the reasons that support your argument. I like the way you have used a short strong sentence in the second paragraph and also used capital letters for emphasis.
