The Pink Ball

Many years ago, there was once a little, ordinary girl named Hannah. Hannah was very lonely, the only company she had was her great-aunt. Hannah and her great-aunt lived in an old hospital, in the ruins of a big city. It was very hard for Hannah to communicate with her aunt because her aunt was deaf.

Every day Hannah would go outside the hospital to see if she could find anything interesting in the other old buildings. One day as Hannah was wandering around the cracks and ruins of the city, she noticed something shiny in an old train window. Well at least it was shiny to her because everything else was quite dull. She jumped and almost tripped just to get a better look.

The next day, as soon as Hannah woke up she gathered all the sharp rocks she could find from in the front of the hospital and sprinted as fast as she could to get to the old train. As soon as she got there, she started chucking the rocks as hard as she could at the train window. At last the window broke. Hannah reached inside and retrieved a large pink ball.

On her way back to her hospital home she noticed a dim glow inside the ball. Hannah’s eyes widened and she started walking faster. When Hannah finally arrived home she became curious about the ball. She bounced it and bounced it and bounced it until she heard a massive pop. Rainbow glitter flew everywhere, her grey room became an explosion of colour. Beautiful rainbow creatures flew everywhere and some even crawled on the ground.

Hannah’s favourite creature looked like a little puppy except it was covered in beautiful, glowing rainbow tattoos. Hannah loved the rainbow explosion so much that she didn’t want it to escape. Before long, she had every rainbow bird, bat and beast locked in cages so they wouldn’t escape. It was a prison for the creatures.

The next day when Hannah woke up she noticed that one cage was open and there was nothing inside. Hannah screamed so loud that all the creatures in the cages tried to cover their ears. Luckily for her, she didn’t get told off because her great-aunt couldn’t even hear.

When Hannah finally calmed down, she decided to go and search for her creature. It took her almost two hours until she realised the missing creature was on top of an old mailbox. “Please come back to me!” begged Hannah. “I really miss you”. Sadly, the creature didn’t even want to move. Hannah ran home sobbing.

When she got back to her home she decided eating will make her sadness go away. Hannah ate as much food she could find in the old fridges, even though the food tasted stale. The next day when Hannah woke up she saw two more creatures had left the cages. Hannah was so stressed. “Why can’t the creatures just stay with me,” she cried.

Once again Hannah went out to look for the creatures. She remembered the old mailbox and ran straight there. All three creatures were hanging around the mailbox. As soon as Hannah said a word, the creatures put on a jaw dropping performance. The creatures flew, crawled and ran all over the place.

When they had finished, Hannah realised she had to let the creatures go, in order for them to show their true beauty and make the city bright again. Hannah sprinted home as fast as a cheater with a huge smile on her face. As soon as she arrived she unlocked all the cages and all the creatures shot outside. From that day on Hannah enjoyed the beauty of her city and never tried to hide anything beautiful again.
